Quotes & Pricing
Do you charge a call-out fee?

No. Quotes and call-outs are free across all 60+ suburbs we service, and every job is quoted fixed-price before work starts.

How quickly will I get a quote?

We respond to enquiries within 2 business hours and deliver fixed-price quotes within 24 hours. Many smaller jobs can be quoted from photos the same day.

Are your quotes really fixed-price?

Yes. The number we give you is the number you pay. If something genuinely unforeseeable appears mid-job, we stop and talk to you before anything changes.

Solar & Batteries
How much can I save with solar in Melbourne?

A typical 6.6kW system generates around 24kWh per day and can cut household bills by 60–80% depending on daytime usage. Adding a battery pushes savings further by shifting solar into the evening peak.

What rebates can I get in Victoria?

The Victorian Solar Homes rebate offers up to $1,400 off solar, federal STCs cut another $2,000–$3,500, and the federal battery program discounts home batteries. We handle every application and apply discounts upfront.

Which battery brands do you install?

Sigenergy, Sungrow and GoodWe are our core range, chosen for performance and warranty support. We size every battery from your actual usage data.

Can you add a battery to my existing solar?

Usually yes — AC-coupled batteries retrofit to almost any existing system, including systems we didn't install. We confirm compatibility in your free assessment.

EV Charging
Which EV chargers do you install?

Tesla Wall Connector, Zappi, EVNEX and all major brands — for homes, apartments and workplaces, with smart load management included.

How long does an EV charger install take?

Most home installations are completed in half a day, fully tested and certified with a Certificate of Electrical Safety.

Electrical & Safety
How much does a switchboard upgrade cost?

Most Melbourne switchboard upgrades fall between $800 and $2,500 depending on board size and wiring condition. We confirm a fixed price after a quick inspection.

How often do rental properties need an electrical safety check?

Victorian rental providers must complete an electrical safety check every two years under the Residential Tenancies Regulations 2021. We provide compliant documentation for your records and agent.

Are you licensed and insured?

Yes — Melbourne Power Group is a licensed A-Grade electrical contractor (REC 37142), fully insured, SAA-accredited for solar and battery, and a Master Electricians Australia member.

Do you use subcontractors?

No. Every job is delivered by our own employed, factory-trained crew — that's how we guarantee the workmanship on every install.
